Martin Scorsese showed a teaser trailer for his new movie Killers of the Flower Moon to CinemaCon attendees

Coming our way from Apple and Paramount, director Martin Scorsese‘s new film Killers of the Flower Moon will be making its premiere at the Cannes Film Festival next month before moving on to a limited theatrical release on October 6th, which will become a wide theatrical release on October 20th. But before the movie makes its way out into the world, Scorsese stopped by the CinemaCon convention to give attendees the first look at a teaser trailer.

JoBlo’s own Chris Bumbray is at CinemaCon, and sent in the following report: “Martin Scorsese in the house! He presented the teaser trailer for Killers of the Flower Moon. Despite being originally made for Apple, he designed the film for theatres. This is his sixth movie with Leonardo DiCaprio and his tenth with Robert De Niro, but it’s the first with them together.

Teaser trailer: the Osage Nation is sitting on oil-rich land. De Niro and his nephew start murdering to get the land, with Leo marrying Lily Gladstone’s character. Leo starts to feel someone conflicted, but is a bit of a dope.. De Niro is the mastermind, and Jesse Plemons is the FBI agent (wearing a huge cowboy hat) sent to investigate. Affects a cowboy vibe to disarm them.

Also – rumor was De Niro was de-aged, but not true. He looks like himself and if anything was done it was subtle. This isn’t The Irishman 2.”

Based on a best-selling nonfiction book, Killers of the Flower Moon tells the story of an FBI investigation of a series of murders of the Osage people that took place in Oklahoma in the early 1920s. It became known as the Reign of Terror after oil was discovered on tribal land. Eric Roth wrote the screenplay adaptation.

The Hollywood Reporter lets us know that DiCaprio plays Ernest Burkhart, the nephew of cattleman William Hale (De Niro). Gladstone, who is of Blackfeet and Nimíipuu heritage and first broke out in Kelly Reichardt’s 2017 film Certain Women, plays Mollie Kyle, an Osage woman who has inherited an oil fortune. The cast also includes Jesse Plemons as Tom White, a former Texas Ranger investigating the murders, and Cara Jade Myers, JaNae Collins, Jillian Dion and Tantoo Cardinal.
