Cocaine Shark attacks on DVD and VOD in July

Director Mark Polonia’s shark thriller Cocaine Shark will be receiving a DVD and VOD in July, courtesy of Wild Eye Releasing

A couple months ago – soon after the successful theatrical release of director Elizabeth Banks’ Cocaine Bear (read our review HERE) – we saw the trailer for Cocaine Shark, the latest movie from prolific low budget filmmaker Mark Polonia. We already knew at that time that the movie had secured a distribution deal with Wild Eye Releasing, and now we know when Wild Eye is going to be sending Cocaine Shark out into the world. The film is set to receive a DVD and VOD release on July 11th!

July 11th also happens to be the start of the Shark Week marathon on the Discovery Channel, so this is some perfect timing.

Scripted by Bando Glutz, Polonia’s Cocaine Shark has the following synopsis: A mafia drug lord has unleashed a new, highly addictive stimulant on the streets called HT25, derived from sharks held captive in a secret lab, and which causes monstrous side effects. After an explosion and leak at the lab, an army of mutated, bloodthirsty sharks and other creatures are set loose on the world as a small band of people try to stop the carnage.

The film stars Samantha Coolidge, Ryan Dalton, Natalie Himmelberger, Titus Himmelberger, Jeff Kirkendall, Noyes J. Lawton, Kyle Rappaport, Ken Van Sant, and Polonia himself.

Polonia has nearly 80 directing credits to his name, going back to the 1980s. His most well-known movie may still be 1987’s Splatter Farm. Some of his other credits include Lethal Nightmare, How to Slay a Vampire, Feeders, The House That Screamed, Holla If I Kill You, Peter Rottentail, Preylien: Alien Predators, HalloweeNight, Empire of the Apes, Revolt of the Empire of the Apes, Invasion of the Empire of the Apes, Chainsaw Killer, Sharkenstein, Land Shark, Shark Encounters of the Third Kind, Virus Shark, Jurassic Shark 2: Aquapocalypse, Bigfoot vs. Zombies, Jurassic Prey, Camp Blood: First Slaughter, Ghost of Camp Blood, Camp Blood Kills, Children of Camp Blood, Noah’s SharkDune WorldDoll Shark, Sharkula, Amityville Death House, Amityville Exorcism, Amityville Island, and Amityville in Space.
